One new mom's journey through diaper changes, hormones, and everything in between.
SUCH A SWEET FACE
This weekend my sweet boy became the kid other parents protect their sweet little angels from. It was a sad sight to watch as we went to three birthday parties in two days. While my little guy is super social and always happy; he loves to hit. And, unfortunately at almost 1 year old, time-out and the word no don’t hold much weight in his mind. I am exhausted (as is his dad) and kind of at a loss. In the words of my little guy; “eye, yi, yi!”
My household came alive at 4:55 am this morning. And the reason; my little guys newest phase of development - trying to stand in his crib. Apparently, when this happens all sleep schedules and sleep patterns are interrupted. My husband and I tried to wait him out for 20 minutes but the waiting game was a combination of watching the monitor next to our bed and enduring mini panic attacks while watching his unsteady balance end in him tumbling over. Eventually my husband got up, made him a bottle, changed his diaper, and brought him in our bed in hopes that he would go back to sleep. Well after an hour of mama bear hugs and gentle forms of coaxing him to stay in bed, the boy won. Now, at 7:30 am, he is sound asleep listening to gentle sound of waves crashing ashore on his sound machine while I am left tired but rushing to get ready for an 8:30 am play date. *yawn*
THE JAMAICA DIARIES
The little guy’s first trip to Kingston Jamaica and his first taste of sugar cane.
Jamaica
Last week the hubby, the little guy, and I headed off to Jamaica to spend eight days on the beach with our parents, grandparents, and close relatives. The first morning the little guy was up to meet the sunrise. I was so excited to see how he would react to the ocean that we headed to the beach, camera in tow, and captured his first dip (toes only).
Foodie Redefined
Pureed edamame is not his food of choice. Playing with it on the other hand is clearly his game of choice.
Crossroads
Every now and again, I hit a minor crossroads in my life. Today it became apparent that I have hit a major one.
Stinky Feet
You may not believe me but my little guy has the cheesiest toes ever smelled on a baby… oh how I love them.
